Or as I like to call it, how to keep going when your get-up-and-go…. got up and went! (This post may contain affiliate links. You can read my full policy here). In the reselling community, I’ve been hearing a LOT about a lack of motivation.

The past few years in January, I’ve done a Top Thrifting Finds post. It’s always fun to go back and take a look at how the year went and review some of the highlights of the thrifting year. After seeing how well-received my Quick & Dirty Guide to Selling Coffee Mugs for Profit was, I thought I'd throw together another guide for another of my niches. Sewing patterns. (This post may contain affiliate links. See my policy here. ) Selling sewing patterns is definitely not a get-rich-quick method that will solve all your reselling dilemmas.

Whether you charge for the mug and shipping separately or if you jack the price of the mug and list as Free Shipping…that’s up to you. I do both. And sometimes switch back and forth if something isn’t selling. My hubby IS the shipping department here and he has a fast process for using the 7 X 7 X 6 Priority Mail boxes from the USPS.

In one shop, I use Etsy’s feature of offering free shipping if the buyer spends $35. Also, Etsy recently introduced OFFSITE ADS. Shops are automatically opted in to that program. If you make over $10,000 in a year you have no choice but to be part of the program. As a new shop, you can opt out.

As I’ve mentioned before in this post: Oneida Flatware and the Betty Crocker Catalog, nostalgia plays a big role in the reselling of vintage flatware. Many mothers and grandmothers dutifully collected Betty Crocker coupons and put together silverware sets for daughters, nieces, granddaughters and themselves. Those who inherited these sets turn to Ebay and Etsy for … Continue reading "Top ...

I have a few finds to share from this weekend. It was another crazy week it seems..just keeping up with the normal stuff. Can’t remember that I found anything spectacular at any of my thrift runs this week, but I did go to a couple yard sales on Saturday. No one can know everything about everything. Most of the time, this is the frustration I face when I'm out thrifting. I have many niches, (pretty much anything that'll turn a buck) but I know I'm passing things on the shelves and tables that are worth more. I just don't know it. Google and my Droid are helping though. But what I'm

NOTE: If you would like help identifying your Betty Crocker silverware pattern, please see the post: Top 10 Betty Crocker Silverware patterns by Oneida. One of the reasons I've said that buying and selling stainless flatware can be profitable is because of the memories and emotions involved. People want items they remember from their childhood or want to recapture the feelings

Look at that! It’s gorgeous! It’s by Oneida and it’s called Chandelier. I found a bunch of it the other day and have sold 4 teaspoons already for $39.99 free shipping. I paid 25 cents apiece. Here’s a link to my other listings. Tip: if the handle is pierced, it’s probably worth taking a gamble on selling it.

1000 pieces of stainless flatware This week at The Recycleista’s Resale Shop, the Purchasing Department (me) made the decision to invest in a large lot of flatware to flip. The price was good and the ROI will be even better.
